Nathan (4) Udell [John (3) and (2) Lionel (1)], born in Jefferson, 0., Feb. 18, 1817. Married June 30, 1838, Eliza Payne, who was born Feb 13, 1816, and died May 15, 1883. He moved to Iowa in 1849, and was a practicing physician in Unionville and later in Centerville, from 1849 to 1883. He was a surgeon in the Civil War in the 17th Iowa Infantry and was in the State Senate for four years. After his retirement he lived in Concordia, Kan., and in Denver, Col., where he died Mar. 6, 1903.

Alice A. (5) Udell, born June 18, 1843, married Feb. 4, 1864, Evan E. Sweariugen, who died Oct. 13, 1890. Res., Wichita, Kan.;
Addison S. (5) Udell, born Mar. 19, 1850, married Dec. 21, 1875, Lizzie Kiester. Res. Ottumwa, Iowa. Children: Charles K. (6) Udell, born Mar. 17, 1876, died Jan. 1, 1881; Frank N. (6) Udell, born Feb. 17, 1882, died Feb. 16, 1883; Philip (6) Udell, born Apr. 11, 1896.
John H. (5) Udell, born Apr. 22, 1853, married Apr. 29, 1875, Eva C. Thomas, Res. Denver, Col. Children: Flora Ann (6) Udell, born Apr. 2, 1876, married W. H. Faust. Res. Los Angeles; Cal.; Nathan (6) Udell, born Apr. 10, 1879; Chester C. (6) Udell, born Sept. 28, 1882.
Ida (5) Udell, born Sept. 4, 1854, in Unionville, la. Married Kos Harris, who was born Dec. 3, 1851. Res. Wichita, Kan. Children: Vermillion (6) Harris, born Aug. 21, 1877; Coral Udell (6) Harris, born Mar. 7, 1879, married Mar. 24, 1897, W. V. Frazier; Nourma (6) Harris, born Oct. 19, 1886.
