About Alice Williams
In her will she left £10 yearly, for twenty years, to her son, Roger, "now beyond the seas;" or, in case of his death, to his wife and daughter.
She provided for the distribution of bread to the poor on the day of her funeral and left money for a supper for her tenants [Thayer and Burton Ancestry, p. 91].
Alice was of the Pemberton family, landed gentry in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.
Alice Pemberton was the daughter of Robert and Katherine (Stokes) Pemberton. She was baptized February 18, 1564, St. Alban's Abbey, Hertfordshire, England and she died august 1, 1634, London, England and buried at St. Sepulchre Church. Alice, in her Will, named her son, Roger Williams, "now beyond the seas", or, in case of his death, to his wife and daughter. Alice was executrix for her late husband's will proved November 19, 1621, of James Williams. Copy of Will can be found from London Metro Archive. Com. Court of London, Vol. 27, fol. 12. For DNA data read the notes on her husband, James Williams.
