About Alice Woolman
Not a daughter of Edward Lloyd and Alice Crouch. Alice was still married to Henry Hawkins in 1640.
There were lots of Lloyds around - lots of Floyds too.
Alice Lloyd was born abt 1645 in Virginia Colony, United States . Alice was the daughter of Edward Lloyd (1605-1695) and Alice Crouch Lloyd (1625-1687).
Alice married John Watkins II (1637-1682) in Maryland. John was the son of John Watkins (1611-1648) and Frances Watkins who later married John's father-in-law, Edward Lloyd.
John and Alice Lloyd Watkins were the parents of John Watkins (1660-1696).
Alice's dad, brother and other family members were the original founders of Maryland. Her dad, Edward Lloyd was a burgess, Commander of the Militia of Anne Arundel County, MD., Councillor of the commonwealth of England, Justice of the Peace in Talbott County and he was one of the original founders of Providence, afterwards called Annapolis. Annapolis is the capitol of the state of Maryland. Her brother, Philemon Lloyd was a member and made speaker of the House of Delegates of Maryland, was first Captain and then Colonel of Militia, etc. and her nephew was a governor in Maryland. More facts under both her parents' bio on "Find a Grave".
In the book "Register of Maryland's Heraldic Families: Period from 1634" on page 341, it talks about Alice apparently being a daughter of Edward and Alice (Crouch) Lloyd and marrying John Watkins II, and that Alice and John settled in Providence, Maryland and says that Alice was born in Virginia.
