Ambrose Yarborough, Jr.

Not the husband of Mary Humphrey

According to the Yarborough Family Association, Ambrose Yarborough, Jr. married Susan Layton and preceded his father in death, sans progeny. The will of Ambrose Yarborough, Sr., signed August 27, 1788 in Union County, South Carolina, names five living children, dividing his estate into five equal shares among them. Son Ambrose Jr. was not named, nor was his wife Susan, and no grandchildren were named in the will. Stephen Layton along with Peter Pinnell were co-executors.

I don't believe Ambrose Yarborough, Jr. ever married "Mary Humphrey" or had any children with anyone by that name. For further information please review the Yarborough Family Association pedigree charts and family group sheet for Ambrose Yarborough, Sr. , and Ambrose Yarborough, Sr.'s will which is on record both in the original manuscript and transcribed.

It appears that both Findagrave and Geni users, along with some other websites, have inadvertently confabulated and/or confused Ambrose Sr. and Jr.
