Amos Gustin Bible Records The old family Bible of Amos Gustin, with the entries in his own hand writing, is yet in possession of his descendents. At the death of Amos Gustin it passes to his son John Gustin, and from there to John’s oldest son, Edward Scott Gustin. After Edward’s death in 1854, it passed to his brother, John A Gustin and after the death of the latter, to his oldest son, John A Gustin of Hillsboro, Ohio, in whose possession it remained until his death in 1929.The following records are an exact copy of this old Bible. Some of the writing is so faded and dim, and the paper so worn that it could not be deciphered, even by the use of a strong reading glass. Amos Gustin was born September the 7th in the year of our Lord 1753. Susanny Gustin, his wife was born October 2nd n the year of 1770. Sarai was born 22 October in the year of our Lord 1796. (Her mother is Amos first wife Miss Rogers.) John was born Jan 22nd in the year of our Lord 1799. Thomas was born 2nd of March in the year of our Lord 1801. Amos was born February 18 in the year of our Lord 1803. William was born January 28 in the year of our Lord 1805. Grizella Milligan was born February 26 in the year of our Lord 1807. Alpheus Jones was born November 25 in the year of our Lord 1809. Jeremiah was born January 6 1813. Rebecca was born 25 December in the year of our Lord 1814. Susan Jones Gustin was born 16 of April in the year of our Lord 1816 April the 25 1817 Jacob Jones Gustin was born. Samuel Jefferson was born in the year of our Lord May 15 1819. Benegear Gustin was born 3 of June in the Year of our Lord 1821. Joseph Gray and Sarai Gray were married in the year of our Lord August 18 1814. John Gustin was married the 19 of March 1818. July 20 in the year of our Lord Susan died. Thomas Gustin was married March 7 1822.(Note:- Amos Gustin (1753-1823) was a Revolutionary was soldier; twice married. His first wife was a Miss Rogers (first name not known.) Sarai (or Sarah) who married Joseph Gray was their only child. He married second, Susannah Jones. She was the mother of 12 children. M. E.
