Both Gideon and his Father, John B. Bunch, we’re identified, listed as Mulatto. When John shows up in So Carolina ,he has 6-8 dark skin people with him. John Henry Bunch,-1690- 1775 was listed as, Cherokee Indian Tribe. Paul Bunch’s Mother was Amy Winigum, 1668-1726, from Cherokee tribe. [SIC: wrong dates]
From family stories passed down , my family has been told that the Bunch’s were German- Portigese- and that they then mixed in the Colonies with Saponi & then Cherokee Indian blood lines.
