A write-up in the New England Historic and Genealogical Register (1967, Vol. 121, pp. 229-231) goes into detail about Amy Ogier's descent from Louis Ogier Jr. and Susannah Martin. Although the case is circumstantial, it does mention that Amy named her second son Martin Butler which seems significant. However, it also mentions that some researchers believe Amy was an Ozier and not an Ogier.

Gary Boyd Roberts, in his book on page 269, gives the above NEHGR article and correspondence with Michael J. Wood (which he doesn't detail) as his primary sources to support Amy being the daughter of Louis Ogier Jr. and Susannah Martin. However, a note in Roberts's book on page 137, mentions notes and charts prepared by a Judith Eaken Boucher of Fort Myers, Florida, that suggest Amy was the daughter of John and Sarah Ozier. She supports this with an 1820 census record that shows a John Ozier living next to Nealy Butler in Tennessee, and an 1840 census that shows both John Ozier and Nealy Butler living in Carroll County, Arkansas.

So while Gary Boyd Roberts acknowledges the Ozier possibility presented by Ms. Boucher, he accepts the Ogier descent presented in the NEHGR article and apparently his correspondence with Michael J. Wood as this is the one presented in his book.
