He married (1) ANTONIA DE GONGORA 07 Jan 1708/09 in Sagrario Metropolitano, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, daughter of JUAN-FRANCISCO DE GONGORA-Y-AGUILAR and JUANA MARTINEZ-GUAJARDO. She was born 1685, and died 1724 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He married (2) MARIA-TERESA CAVAZOS-FERNANDEZ 15 Apr 1725 in Sagrario Metropolitano, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, daughter of JOSEPH CAVAZOS-DE-LA-GARZA and JACINTA FERNANDEZ-DE-CASTRO-Y-DE-LA-CERDA. She died 1737. He married (3) MATIANA DE AYALA-DE-LA-GARZA 21 Apr 1738 in Sagrario Metro, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, daughter of NICOLAS DE AYALA-Y-BENAVIDES and ANTONIA DE-LA-GARZA-DE-LA-GARZA. She was born 1718 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and died 1739. He married (4) MARIA-JOSEFA DE-LA-GARZA-SOSA 21 Nov 1740 in Valle del Carrizal, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, daughter of JUAN DE-LA-GARZA-MONTEMAYOR and MARIA DE SOSA. She was born 1690.

Notes for MARIA-JOSEFA DE-LA-GARZA-SOSA:

Descendent of Don Juan de Oñate, colonizer of New Mexico. She descends from Onate’s mother, Dona Catalina de Salazar de Cadena and her first marriage to Don Ruy Diaz de Mendoza. A daughter from this first marriage, Dona Magdalena de Mendoza Salazar and her husband, Don Vicente de Saldivar y Onate are ancestors of Dona Josefa de la Garza.

Another participant in the colonization of New Mexico (USA), and an ancestor of this group is Captain Bernabé de las Casas, who married Dona Beatriz Navarro, the daughter of Don Juan Navarro, a founder of Saltillo. Beatriz was the first wife of Captain Alonso de Sosa Albornoz, killed in New Mexico by orders of Oñate. Alonso’s grandfather was the Conquistador Don Andrés de Tapia, perhaps the most trustworthy and reliable of the captains of the Marquis del Valle de Oaxaca, Hernán Cortés.
