Andronikos Komnenos (or Andronicus Comnenus) (Greek: Ανδρόνικος Κομνηνός) (c. 1108–1142) was the third child and second son of the Byzantine Emperor John II Komnenos and his Hungarian wife, Piroska (Eirene).
Family
Andronikos Komnenos was married to a woman named Eirene (Aineiadissa ?), by whom he had several children, these were:
- Maria Komnene, who married Theodoros Dasiotes, then John Kantakouzenos.[2]
- John Doukas Komnenos (d. c. 17 September 1176), who married (first name unknown) Taronitissa, and had a daughter Maria.[3]
- Theodora Komnene (d. 2 January 1184), who married Henry II Jasomirgott,[4] and had three children, including Leopold V of Austria.[citation needed]
- Eudokia Komnene, who married an unknown first husband and then Michael Gabras. She was also one of the mistresses of Andronikos I Komnenos.[5]
- Alexios Komnenos, (murd. 1183), who was married to Maria Doukaina, and had two short-lived sons. He is believed to have had Maria of Antioch (widow of Manuel I) as a mistress. He headed the regency council for her son, Alexios II.[6]
Sebastokrator Andronikos Komnenos was born circa 1108. He was the son of Ioannes II Kaloiannis Komnenos, basileus Rhomaiôn and Piroska, Hercegnõ Magyarország. Sebastokrator Andronikos Komnenos married sebastokratorissa Eirene Rhodocanakis, daughter of Andronikos Rhodocanakis and Theodora Tarchaniotes.3,4 Sebastokrator Andronikos Komnenos died in 1141. Died in the Fall.

Andronikos Komnenos or Andronicus Comnenus (Greek: Ανδρόνικος Κομνηνός, Andronikos Komninos, c. 1108 - 1142). Andronikos Komnenos was the third child and second son of the Byzantine Emperor John II Komnenos and his Hungarian wife, Piroska (Eirene).
Life and Death
Andronikos was made sebastokratōr at an unknown date. He was one of two sons of John II Komnenos to predecease that Emperor, the other being Alexios, whose body Andronikos was charged, along with the third brother, Isaac, with bringing back from Attalia to Constantinople in 1142. Unfortunately, Andronikos himself became sick and died on the return journey.
