About Angela Romano
Angela Romano is listed on the manifest for the SS Taormina sailing from Palermo on March 6, 1910. Her last permanent resident is shows as Regalbuto. Her nearest relative in Italy is listed as her father Carmelo Papaserio of Regalbuto. The manifest says that her trip was paid for by her brother and she is planning to jon her brother Gaetano at 70 Oak St. in Chicago, IL. She does not seem to actually have a brother named Gaetano, however, her sister Gaetana Papaserio was married to Gaetano Brex who arrived in the USA for a second time on April 2, 1909 and was planning to go to that same address, 70 Oak St to join a cousin. Angela's height is listed at 4'11".
Also, on the ship manifest listed immediately after her is her son, a 7 month baby named Philip "Phil" Joe Romano. This page of the ship manifest has many names crossed off, but there is another female listed immediately after them from Regalbuto. 17 year old Giuseppa Spezzi. Giuseppa's trip was paid for by her father Filippo who she is going to meet with in New York.
Angela later married Joseph Romano in Chicago who was much older. He was old enough to be Angela's father, in fact Joe Romano already had a daughter Carmella Rizzo that was older than his new wife Angela. Carmela was already an adult and married to Salvatore "Sam" Rizzo and had 5 kids by the time Joe and Angela had their first son, Ignatius Romano in 1913
