About Ann Morley - Wells, Free Settler “Northampton” 1815

  • Ann arrived Sydney aboard Northampton on 18 June 1815 together with her surviving children Mary & James as family of a transported convict (James Morley)
  • Following the death of her husband "James" in August 1832, Ann remarried " James Webb" a farmer) a couple of years later on 28 July 1835 Christ C of E Hexham with marriage witnessed by daughter and son in law (William & Mary Ann Cooper). At this stage she would have had at least three children to care for aged under ten John, Edward & Charles - several of the elder children were most likely also under her care.
  • She had ten children with James Morley and a further child " Benjamin Wells on 19 April 1837 with James Wells.
