Origins

According to the Yarborough Family Association, Ambrose Yarborough, Jr. married Susan Layton and preceded his father in death, sans progeny. The will of Ambrose Yarborough, Sr., signed August 27, 1788 in Union County, South Carolina, names five living children, dividing his estate into five equal shares among them. Son Ambrose Jr. was not named, nor was Ambrose, Jr.'s wife Susan, and no grandchildren were named in the will. Stephen Layton along with Peter Pinnell were co-executors.
