Anne Yates Her mother was (said to have been) a descendant of Baron Richard de Clare,one of the 25 sureties who stood at Runnemeade and forced King John,on the 15 Jun.1215 to sign the Magna Charta.
Ann is the daughter of George Yates and Mary (Wells) Stockett. The Yate or Yates family descends from the Counts of Flanders, but it is also said that this family has been traced back before the Counts of Flanders to Numerius Julius Caesar.
