About Ann Swann
Biography
http://www.shirleyassociation.com/NewShirleySite/NonMembers/Surname...
The Colonel married, as his fourth wife, Ann Browne, widow of Henry Browne, a Member of the Council, probably on 23 February 1662/3. Henry Browne had been one of the original attendees at the Meeting of the Assembly on 20 February 1636/7, which established the post of Customs Officer in Virginia. He was in Virginia by 1634, and died in 1662. Ann Swann died without issue on 12 August 1668; and was buried at Four Mile Tree, the home of the Brownes.
[Henry and Anne Browne had a son, Barclay Browne, who seems to have died without issue; and a daughter and eventual heiress, Mary Browne. Mary Browne married a William Browne, who was clearly a relation. He had come to Virginia in 1637 as a Headright of Thomas Gray, who patented 100 acres in James City County in 1643 on the east side of Gray's Creek, adjoining his own land, for the transportation of two persons: George Graves and William Browne].

"When Berkeley was succeeded by the Puritan Governor, Richard Bennett, Colonel Browne again retired from the Council. When Berkeley once more became the Royal Governor, he was reinstated and died in office about 1662. His widow, by Oct 1662, had married Colonel Thomas Swann."

"I would like to share data with you on this line. I only recently discovered this line. Col. Henry Browne and his wife (Anne Fowler) are my 10th Great-grandparents. I discovered his wife's name via the IGI records at the LDS web site. Anne's father was also found listed in the IGI as Francis Fowler.
Anne was born abt. 1602, and married abt. 1621 at Four Mile Tree (which I have recently learned is a plantation) in Surry Co., VA. (Again, this is according to the IGI.) It's not written in stone, but most of the IGI records were transcribed from the original records."
