The following was in the Lititz (PA) Record Express - published in Friday Morning's Record, 21 Jan 1881.
"Sutter's Widow Dies - Mrs. Anna (Dubeld) Sutter, widow of the late Gen. John A. Sutter, died at her residence at this place on Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock, aged 75 years and four months. Mrs. Sutter, like her husband, was a native of Switzerland, and came to this country in 1850, settling in California. In 1865 she left that State and went to Washington, where she remained several years, from which place she and her husband came to Lititz and remained here since. Ever since the death of her husband, which occurred on the 19th of June last, Mrs. Sutter had been gradually pining away. Grieved at the death of Mr. Sutter and the failure of Congress to grant him his claim, she had no desire to live any longer and expressed herself as anxious to meet her lamented husband in heaven above. Pneumonia made its appearance in her system, followed by a stroke of paralysis, which ultimately brought on death. The funeral ceremonies will be held in the Moravian Church on Saturday at 10 o'clock A. M. Interment in the Moravian cemetery."
