About Anna von Hottingen

His wife's link to the shrine at the Wasserkirche was a source of wealth for Henricus Through their relatiornship with the Graf (prince) von Kyburg, the von Hottingens had feudal ownership of the Hottingerturm (Tower), which once stood next to the Wasserkirche (shown here as it looked in 1700), next to the shrine to Saints Felix and Regula. I think the family made money from the shrine of the tower they owned that stood next to it, perhaps taking a percentage of offerings made by pilgrims. joyceanncapron on Ancestry

Anna came from a long distinguished bloodline of major Germanic nobility with an impressive pedigree. Her father, grandfather and great grandfather were all counts and warrior knights and all three died in battle. Her father was slain at the "Battle at Schlact Von Hemmelskemp" in Rastede, Germany on July 6, 1233. Her grandfather was a CRUSADER KNIGHT slain in battle while participating in the "Third Holy Crusade" in 1198 in Palestine, Holy Land. Her great grandfather was slain at the "Siege of Oldenburg" in Oldenburg, Germany in 1167. All three men held the title of Graf (Count) and Knight. (wab)
