'The origins and relationship of the Chauntrell/Chantrell family to the Dunham Massey Estate, the Baguleys : http://catterall.net/_JC_a/Dunham.html They are linked to the Booth and Davenport families through marriage. On a window in the church where Anne is buried in the chapel, the Booth coat of Arms is found at the far left. On the right, next to what appears to be the cross keys of the Vatican coat of arms, are the Baguley triple Azure lozenges over the Earls of Chester. This is one of the oldest churches in England.

The entire family name was originally the Chauntrell's of Bache, and they held 1/4 of Dunham Massey. "Silver, a pelican in her nest vulning herself sable, the nest gold. Crest: A tower argent, in the gate a boar's head sable". The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Walterus Canterellus, which was dated 1177, in the "Pipe Rolls of Shropshire", during the reign of King Henry 11, known as "The Builder of Churches", 1154 - 1189.

Her parents may have been : •1585 - [VISITCHESH] records Elizabeth Booth, daughter of George Booth of Dunham, married William Chantrell de Bache (research needed).

Vantuono, [VANTUONO99] (p.xxi) claims that “Dunham Massey became a centre of cultural excellence in the fourteenth century under Henry [Henry de Grosmont] who bought out the Massey descendants portions of the estate, and in the fifteenth century under the Booths (descendants of the Massey heiresses)”.

The history of the Chauntrell/Chantrell is extremely well documented over the centuries in this blog including a member who was with John Smith in America: http://cantrellhistory.wordpress.com/2012/08/19/richardcantrell/ _______________________________________________________________________________

This family appears to be buried at St. Martin's Church, perhaps in the chapel, as it is referred to in some records. The church is in Ashton-upon-Mersey, Chesire, England and is ancient, being founded in 1304 upon an older church. It is believed that the original church was built on this site in the late ninth century at the time to the Saxon King, Edward the Elder (870-924) just within the Kingdom of Mercia. Ashton is not mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book nor the ensuing Pipe Rolls. Perhaps the land lay waste from the Viking raids for a century or more, or, the local landowner at Dunham didn’t record all his land to evade tax, or the records were lost or misplaced. http://www.stmartinsaom.co.uk/id3.html

St. Martin's church has:
