About Anne Gainsford
Biography
Anne Haute (1473-1508), who married, as his second wife, Sir John Gainsford (1467 – 28 October 1540) of Crowhurst and Guildford, Surrey.

Ann Hawte was born about 1473.[1]
Anna Haut was the daughter of Richard Haut, esq, and his wife, the widow of Robert Darcy, esq.[2] Her mother was Elizabeth, the daughter of Sir Thomas Tyrrell knight, of Heron in East Horndon, and his wife Anne Marney.[3]
From her mother's first marriage to Sir Robert Darcy, Anne had half-siblings:[3]
- Thomas Darcy who married Margaret Harleston;
- Robert Darcy;
- Elizabeth Darcy who married 1) William Berkely or Barley, and 2) John Byrde;
- Anne Darcy who married 1) John Moyle and 2) Sir William Hody;
- Katherine Darcy who married Robert Crane of West Norton, Suffolk;
- Elinore Darcy;
- Alice Darcy who married Richard Lewis of Thornton, Essex (this Alice may have been from an earlier generation);
Anna had siblings:
- Edward Haut, aged 11 in 3 Henry VII, who married the daughter and coheir of Froggenhaule,[2] Elizabeth Frognall;[3]
- Elizabeth, who married Radulphus St Leger de Vicomb, esq,[2] or Isabel and her husband was Ralph St Leger, esq, of Ulcombe, Kent;[3]
Ann married:
John Gainsford, knight, the son of John de Crowhurst in Suthreia;[2] as his second wife. [4]
In the will of Anne's mother, proved 24 January 1506/7, she styles herself as "Dame Elizabeth Darcy, widow" and leaves to her "daughter Gainsford a pair of sheets of 3 breadths and a tablecloth of diaper of birds eyen, and a bed of blue say embrawdid [=embroidered] with flowers and sykfoyles [=cinqfoils]."[2]
Ann Gainsford died about 1502.[citation needed]
