Philippe FOUCHE van Suevres, sv Bernard Foucher en Anne Bruere was "n Franse Hugenoot, wat aangekom het met die Voorschooten in 1688 met sy vrou Anne SOUCHAY (dv Paul Souchay en Anne Paillevert) met wie hy op 7 Jun 1677 getroud is, en 3 kinders, Anne (6) Esther (5) en Jacques (3). In 1690 het hy finansieele bystand ontvang. Hy was gevestig in 1692 te De Wildepaardenjacht, Paarl, en is in 1708 oorlede. Hy het 3 seuns en 3 dogters gehad. Twee kinders is egter jonk in Europa reeds oorlede.

From 'The Le Roux family from Mer': articles in Bulletins 53 and 54 of the Huguenot Society of South Africa by Ghislaine Le Mauff.
On 31 Dec 1687 Jean & Gabriel le Roux, Philippe Foucher & Anne Souchay & children, with Estienne Bruere embarked together on the VOC ship Voorschoten to settle at the Cape of Good Hope. The le Roux brothers & Philippe Foucher were 2nd cousins. Philippe Foucher & Estienne Bruere were first cousins. Anne Souchay was the sister of the le Roux brother's sister in law. They all became progenitors of SA lines.
