[NOTE :LNAB It has been assumed that wife Anne, of Arthur Alger, was the sister of Giles Roberts. A more recent article claims Anne was the daughter of Godfrey and Alice (Frost) Sheldon, and a sister-in-law to Giles Roberts. See: Essex Genealogist: V26: 2006: p. 118] Giles Roberts, early of Maine, references to Arthur Alger in his will as his 'brother', as well as in other documents related to Giles sons. It now appears that Giles Roberts had married a Sheldon sister of Ann. She and Arthur were named the caretakers of two of Giles' children in his will. About 1679, Ann released the land's of her brother Giles, to his sons David and Abraham, when they came of age. ]

Her birth date is unknown, nor is it known when Ann came to New England. [1] Her husband Arthur Alger is likely the Arthur Alger baptized at Yealmton, Devonshire on August 29, 1622. [2]
It is unknown when she married Arthur Alger, but prior to 1666, when Giles Roberts wrote his will, leaving custody of 3 of his children to the couple. [1] [3]
1651 Arthur and Andrew Alger/Auger purchased of certain Indians about 1000 acres at Scarboro to which tract they gave the name Dunsten. (Later given by Ann to her Walker sons.) [3]
1666: January 25: Giles Robert's wrote his will on this date, and in it he states 2 of his 5 children are now living with 'my brother Arthur Auger.' [3]

1675: The Alger's removed from their estate at Scarborough to the garrison at Black Point due to the frequent local Indian attacks. [4]
1675: October 9: Accompanied by soldiers including Peter Wittum, the Alger brothers left the garrison and went to their homestead at Dunston to harvest their grain. [4] [5]
1675: October: A few days the brothers returned to Dunston to collect goods, when they were attacked by Indians, Andrew being killed, and Arthur mortally wounded but escaped and retired to Marblehead where he died at the house of William Sheldon (Ann's brother [1]%29 on October 14, 1675. [6] [7] [4]
1678: Samuel Walker signed a deed, and his wife Ann Walker acknowledged her consent. [8]
The nuncupative will of Arthur Alger was proved by witnesses who testified that he disposed of his estate October 14, 1675, in their presence, at the house of William Sheldon and that he gave all his goods to his wife Ann, only that she should pay the children their portions. They had no children of their own, but were caretakers of Giles, Abraham and David Roberts. Administration was granted to the widow June 30, 1676. [3]
Widow Anne, having no children, removed to Marblehead, Massachusetts. [9]
She married Samuel Walker Sr. of Woburn, as his second wife, about 1676 and they had two sons. [3] [1]
Samuel died at Woburn on November 6, 1684, aged about 67. [10]
Ann Alger Walker was appointed as school dame in Woburn in 1686 after her husband Samuel's death. [8] [11]
On May 14,1702, Ann Walker, widow of Samuel Walker and of Arthur Alger, gave by deed to her two sons Isaac and Ezekiel, because of the care of her and in consideration of maintenance during her life, all her land at Scarborough, being 500 acres, which her husband Arthur Alger had bequeathed to her by his will. [Middlesex Deeds]. [3]
