Anthony's birthplace and parents are unknown. Many online trees (including the attached Smart Matches) have Anthony Goffe and Sarah Carpenter, but this is not proven. Some say he was the Antony Goffe christened at St. Andrew, Enfield, London, England on 20 Dec 1650, son of James and Martha (_____) Goffe. Other dates found are 1647, 1648, 1650, June 2, 1650, December 20, 1650, December 6, 1656, 1660 / about 1660, 1664, and 1665, but his birthdate was most likely in 1656 based on a disposition he gave on 3 Aug 1685 as to him being 29 years of age at the time.
