Isaac Peeler Jr., in a 1912 letter to a nephew in Gaffney, SC said his grandfather was born in Germany. Anthony Peeler first appears in records of Rowan County, North Carolina in 1758, and evidently didn't move to South Carolina until 1779 at the earliest.
