ARCHIBALD HAMILTON OF RAPLOCH

Archibald Hamilton of Raploch is the son of James Hamilton of Raploch. Hamilton Memoirs, p. 364 He is noticed on 20 March 1528, evidently during his father's lifetime, in the witness list of a charter made in favour of Laurence Crawford of Kilbirnie: "Arch. Hammiltoun filio Jacobi H. de Raploch." Register of the Great Seal of Scotland, A.D. 1513-1546, charter number 768 on page 168 He is noticed as Archibald Hamilton of Raploch in the witness list of charters dated 20 January 1532 Ibidem, charter number 1197 on p. 261 and 20 July 1532. Death

Archibald Hamilton of Raploch died before 3 March 1559, the date upon which his brother Gavin had a charter confirming his possession of Raploch. Hamilton Memoirs, p. 364

27 September 1561: Charter by Margaret Hammiltoun elder daughter of deceased Archibald Hammiltoun of Roplocht, with consent of her curators and Margaret Hamiltoun, her mother, to Gavin Hammiltoun, natural son of Gavin, commendator of Kilwynning, of the 40s. lands of Cummer in the barony of Lesmahagow and sheriffdom of Lanark occupied by John Mathow, under reservation of liferent to said Margaret elder.
