Marriage: Stories abound that Arminella was an English noblewoman living in Ireland and that couple eloped due to parental objections to marriage; no proof has ever been found to substantiate this; other stories say that he was a widower when he arrived in America with sons Lawrence and John and Arminella was a second wife. It has now been confirmed that she was the daughter of Lawrence Whiteside of County Antrim, Ireland.
