NEW ALBANY - Myrtle Hill Coley, 89, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. She was born Sept. 16, 1908 in Union County to Joe and Emmie Garrison Melton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Parks Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Wages and the Rev. David Blackwell officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Coley of New Albany; one son, Ralph Hill of New Albany; three daughters, Sammie Hill Jones of Oxford, Katie Hawks of Kansas City, MO., and Betty Dean Treadaway of New Albany; three sisters, Odell Boyd of Senatobia, Annie V. Greer of Guntown and Willard Harmon of New Albany; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Coley, Lloyd Winford Williams, Dennis Rakestraw, Benny Rakestraw, Jerry Pannell and Galloway Jones.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services for visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Heart or Diabetes Foundation or a church of the donor's choice.
