Page was born in Fredonia, Chambers Co., AL, but moved to Mansfield, Texas before his first birthday. He worked in his father's store there and worked in the leased fields as well.

Later, he attended Polytechnic College Preparatory school in Fort Worth where he was a special student from 1909 to 1911.

He married Flossie Sinclair, a native of Denton Co., Texas sometime after 1910.

He operated a grocery store in Denton, TX, a block west of the courthouse square. Page enjoyed telling the children that his initials stood for Apple Peanut-butter.

During the depression he opened another grocery near North Texas State Teachers College in Denton and later, a second-hand furniture store in the south part of town.

They were parents of twins, Wilbur and Dorothy. Two other children did not survive.
