Barnabé Gagnon4 (or Gaignon5) bought a farm on December 28, 1565 in the southern Normandy forest of Perche between Tourouvre and Ventrouze from Gervais Roger and Marion Aubert. Barnabé and his wife, Francoise Creste, farmed and ran an inn there. The hamlet would become known as “La Gaignonnière.
