Benjamin Prichard was born about 1684 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. His father arrived in Philadelphia from Wales in about Nov 1683. Benjamin along with his brother Matthew removed to Pasquotank, North Carolina in 1701.

Benjamin Pritchard married 2nd to Isabel Newby (b: 28 DEC 1697 in Perquimans MM, Perquimans, NC) on 7 AUG 1729 as recorded at the Pasquotank MM, Pasquotank, NC. She was the daughter of Gabriel Newby and Mary Tom, and John Henley’s widow. Isabel would later marry again to Thomas Pierce in 1744.

Benjamin PRITCHARD Senr departed this Life the 21 day of Sept 1739.
Benjamin, produced a certificate at Pasquotank Monthly Meeting signed Nov 18, 1700 at Philadelphia. He married Sarah Culpepper daughter of John Culpepper and Sarah Mayo ( on 2 Nov 1704 at Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Mathew and Benjamin were mentioned in a list of sufferings on account of church rates or priest's dues. June 21, 1722, Benjamin was chosen to be an overseer at Pasquotank MM. He was widowed by the death of Sarah Culpepper (316) on 25 Dec 1723 at North Carolina.
He married Isabel Henley (2015) on 7 Jul 1729 at Pasquotank County, North Carolina.
He died on 21 Jul 1739 at Pasquotank County, North Carolina. Benjamin and family were members of the Society of Friends known as Quakers.
At a meeting held at Cale Bundy's, in the precinct of Pasquotank, on the 1st day and the 9th month, 1702-3. the record says:
"It is also generally agreed by Friends of this meeting that a general collection be made for any occations that may happen amongst Friends; also it is concluded on that it be in silver money twice in a year, viz: on the 1st and 7th month, and Friends appoint Benjamin Pritchard to receive the aforesaid collection and dispose thereof as need shall require and Friends may order."
