About Benjamin Smith
Not the same as Benjamin Smith
Benjamin was a man of public esteem in Woodbridge, where he held several civil offices and was, at one time; Justice. He adhered to the Quakers and was an "Overseer" at the Friends Meetings. He served in Capt. John Moore's 3rd Company of Col. Farmar's Regiment of New Jersey Militia in 1715. His will dated 5 Jan 1731, and proved in 1732; names his elder son John, son Abraham, daughters Esther, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth and beloved brothers John and Abraham Shotwell.
