Betty Ruth Robertson Justice, passed away on Dec. 8th, 2010 at Eisenhower Memorial Hospital in Rancho Mirage, California. Her loving children were by her side.

She was born on August 4, 1925, in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she graduated from Grand Prairie High School.

She met Neil Justice in 1943 and they were married the following year upon his return from the China-Burma-India Campaign in WWII. They settled in Dallas where they had two children, Betsy Robin and Timothy Neil. Betty was the consummate homemaker, mother and wife.

Her home was such a showpiece that passers-by would stop and knock to inquire about its history.

Betty played piano and sang beautifully in the Southwood Methodist Church Choir. Her love of music was evident by the music she listened to. Andre Previn, Peter Nero, Henry Mancini and Stan Getz were among her favorites.

She had a passion for Cape Cod, the Kennedy Family, lighthouses and all things New England. This was punctuated by her many trips to see the fall foliage in Vermont and New Hampshire and eat clam chowder at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She loved the arts, literature, doing needlepoint and was a talented decorator. Her bridge skills were honed with weekly bridge club meetings and she never missed a chance to bid a slam! She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Lighthouse Foundation.

All in all, Betty was a remarkable woman with high-minded goals. She did nothing in life half measured, always wanting the best for her family, as family meant everything to her.

She was a child of the Depression, a young girl of the World War II era, and a mother during the Baby Boom era, truly a member of the "Greatest Generation". She had a warm heart, a keen sense of humor, a beautiful smile and a zest for life.

Betty is survived by her daughter Betsy, son Tim, daughter-in-law Pat, niece Cynthia Giles, great nephews Chris and Joshua Giles, and brother-in-law Marvin Self.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Neil, mother Ruby Robertson, father Luther Robertson and sister Margy Self.

There are no words to express how much we will miss her nor how much she was loved.
