About Bill Blass
Bill Blass was an American fashion designer, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the recipient of many fashion awards, including seven Coty Awards and the Fashion Institute of Technology's Lifetime Achievement Award (1999).
Note: Blass is commonly reported to have lived and died in the town of New Preston, Connecticut. In reality, he lived and died in the Marbledale (often "Marble Dale") section of Washington, Connecticut, and his will was proven in Washington Depot. The confusion likely stems from 1) him living on New Preston Hill Road, 2) his address being located within the shared "New Preston Marble Dale" USPS post office service area, and 3) a nature preserve being named in his honor in the town of New Preston.
