  • 1899 Hungary Marriage Record - Gyula TRENSCHINER (born 25/7/1866 Budapest, son of Hermann TRENSCHINER and Berta LOWY) married Katalin ROSENBAUM (born 26/12/1879 Budapest, daughter of Samuel ROSENBAUM and Cecilia ZWILLINGER) on 1/6/1899 in Budapest, Hungary. Cecilia [Zirl] [Cecil] Zwillinger, b. Holesov, 14 Sep 1855, died in Budapest, 1913, age 58. Budapest Grave: “Rosenbaum Samuelne – Zwillinger Cecil, 1855-1913”.

She was the daughter of Ignatz Zwillinger (1821-1897) by his first wife, Cirl [Cecilia], who died shortly after giving birth to her. She was named in honor of her deceased mother. Her father soon remarried, and the family moved to Pest prior to 1860. She is listed as Ignatz Zwillinger’s daughter in both the 1857 census of Holesov and the 1869 census of Holesov residents living in Pest.

She was m. in Pest, 10 Jan 1875, to Samuel [Samu] Rosenbaum, b. Nitra, c1850, son of Josef Rosenbaum. Her marriage record erroneously identifies her father as “Mark Zwillinger”: “Samu Rosenbaum, age 24, b. Nyitra, son of Josef Rosenbaum, and Zezilia Zwillinger, age 19, b. Hehsebau [Holleschau], daughter of Mark Zwillinger, m. Pest, 10 Jan 1875.” Samu Rosenbaum was a soap maker in Pest.

When Cecilia's oldest son Miksa was born (1876), her father Ignatz Zwillinger was listed as a witness at his circumcision.
