Cecily de Valoignes was born circa 1279 at Thurston, Suffolk, England. She was the daughter of Sir Robert de Valoignes of Walsham. Cecily de Valoignes was one of the daughters and co-heirs of Sir Robert de Valoines, Lord of Walsham in 1284.3 She married Robert (de Ufford), 1st Lord Ufford, son of Robert de Ufford, Justice of Ireland and Mary (?).
