A colonel in the revolutionary army. Purportedly fought at Valley Forge. Was previously (before the war) the superintendant of Lord Fairfax's estate. All this per Jim McMillen, Arlington, Texas.
Info added per DAR's "Lineage Book of the Charter Members" by Mary S Lockwood and published 1895 states he was a "colonel of Third Regiment, Virginia Line"
