Cora Bell McDonnell

Mrs. Corra McDonnell. widow of the late F. J. McDonnell, Sr., passed away at the hospital in Memphis last friday night right near the midnight hour. Mrs. McDonnell had been in poor health for sometime and had been under the care of a number of physicians but with little relief. Recently she went ot Memphis for examinations where it was deccided to operate. This was done and for several days it seemed as if she would recover. Friday night she became suddenly worse and died in about three hours.

Her remains reached here Saturday and were laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery Sundayafternoon after services at the Methodist Church conducted by Rev. W. N. Duncanand Rev. E. H. Cunningham. Mrs. McDonnell was a splendid lady and much loved for her many qualities both as a neighbor and a church worker. Deceased leaves four sons and four daughters-Archie and Fred J. of the city, Gus, of Altimer, Ark., J. S. of Huntsville,Ala., Mrs. K. C. Rodgers,of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. J. R.Buford, Jackson, Miss., Mrs. L.P. Haley and Mrs. Clifford West of this city. The Messenger extends sympathy to the breaved family.
