- Eleanor and Charles were married on 24 June 1914. They were divorced in June 1928. See The New York Times, Tuesday, August 28, 1928, page 25.
- Eleanor and Count Palffy ab Erdod were married on 25 August 1928 in Czechoslovakia. After the wedding they went to reside at their estate of Budmerice in the Pezinok district, Bratislava region of Slovakia. See The New York Times, Tuesday, August 28, 1928, page 25. During her marriage to Count Palffy (which ended in divorce, she resided in Czechoslovakia and Poland, and traveled extensively throughout Europe. After the fall of France during World War Twon, Eleanor returned to the United States and resided in Washington, D.C., where she volunteered time as a nurse's aide in the Red Cross and a lecturer.
