About Daniel Hudson
William Hudson was born in England; and was from Chatham County of Kent, England. He came with Winthop's fleet in 1631 to Boston and returned to England in 1645. He later returned to America and became an ensign in the Foot Company of Col. Rainbow's regiment. He became a freeman in 1631.
The Hudson family were among the first settlers in New England. They were prominent citizens and intermarried with the most influential families. All were rather migratory and manifested a natural affinity for military adventures. Scarcely any family of their numbers furnished so many soldiers in the Indian, French, and Revolutionary Wars.
- "History of Marlboro, Mass" by Charles Hudson (1795-1881), son of Stephen Hudson who was the son of John Hudson. This book was written in 1862.
