About Daniel Yeomans
Daniel Yeomans, son of Moses Yeomans and Sarah Collyer Platt, married Esther Sterling; both records Barbour Collection, Colchester, CT. The family is found in Lebanon, Windham, CT in 1790 and 1800 (Lebanon was part of Windham Co, CT at the time). By 1810, Daniel Yeomans is in German Flatts, Herkimer Co, NY, and is also found in the 1825 NY census there. A historical sketch of their son, Erastus, indicates they removed to Herkimer Co, NY abt 1807.Their children: Asa, Ruth, Sterling, Prentice, Clarissa, Erastus. Some children's lists include daughters Lucy b.1771, Sophia b. 1801 and MaryAnn b. 1808, but I have not seen or been able to find any further proving data that they are in fact daughters of this Daniel Yeomans and Esther Sterling. Anyone who has further evidence in this line, writer is happy to discuss and add if indicated.
All of the children moved to other counties and states. In review of all the known records, Daniel Yeomans died in German Flatts NY, 25 Aug 1825, and is buried there, but in an unknown location. Hale and Barber collections both record his death in German Flatts, NY.
