About Yocheved Frenkel Charif
A descendent writes about her and the history of his family:
"Yocheved Katz, one of the daughters of Shmuel Katz-Lasker. She married R' Yehuda of Lissa, author of "Beit Yehuda", whose surname was Fraenkel. His family were for hundreds of years German Jews, but his father, who also was a rabbi (R' Itzik Hena Fraenkel) came from Frankfurt to be the AB"D of Fordon, now Bydgoszcz. Since then (around 1740) my branch of the family became Polish Jews. You may find a lot of information about us in the book "Ir Lask Vechachameiha" and also in "Tiferet Adam", both written by Pinchas Zelig Gliksman, whose mother was a Frenkel." I. Gath January 5 2011
