Biography

David was born about 1796 to Thomas Cordery and Sonicooie.

He fathered a son named Early Jefferson "Jesse" Goddard about 1815 with Sarah Tidwell. He married Charlotte Goss. Their children were Wilson, Thomas, Andrew, Seaborn, Charlotte, and Nancy.

He died in the summer of 1836 in the Cherokee Nation, east.

DAVID CORDERY (THOMAS1) was born Abt. 1794, and died Abt. 1839.
He married CHARLOTTE GOSS. She was born Abt. 1795.

  • David Cordery died just immediately before the Cherokee came to Oklahoma. He was an interpreter for the Government. His widow, Charlotte Goss Cordery, brought her children over the Trail of Tears in the winter of 1838-39, to Indian Territory.
