David HORTON (aka HALTON, HATTON) was born 1772 Yorkshire, England, the son of Robert HORTON and Ann ?, David was brother of George HORTON and James HORTON

David was convicted on 13 Apr 1790 at North Allerton [Northallerton], Yorkshire, England, of the theft of a quantity of wheat and three bushells of oats, and sentenced to seven years transportation. He sailed from Plymouth, England, on 27 Mar 1791 with the Third Fleet on board the "William and Ann" under the name HALTON. David arrived at Port Jackson, Sydney, NSW, Australia, on 28 Aug 1791.

David married Elizabeth HENSLEY (aka ANNESLEY / HAINSLEY) 23 Sep 1796 at Saint John's Church of England, Parramatta, NSW, Australia; (Elizabeth died in 1805 and is buried at St Johns Parramatta as Elizabeth Hooton).They had the following children

Reference Robert and David Halton - father and son - Search results indicate Place of Conviction as York. David was, in fact, tried and convicted in Northallenby, in the North Riding some distance away from York. I believe they resided in Romanby which, over time,was absorbed inr Northallenby.
