Dolly Rebecca Parton (born January 19, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress and philanthropist, best known for her work in country music.
She is one of the most successful female country artists, garnering the title of "The Queen of Country Music," with 25 number-one singles. and a record forty-one top-10 country albums. She has the distinction of having performed on a top-five country hit in each of the last five decades and is tied with Reba McEntire as the only country artists with No. 1 singles in four consecutive decades.
She is known for her distinctive soprano, sometimes bawdy (and self-depracating) humor, flamboyant style of dress and voluminous décolletage. While being quite buxom (she admits to augmenting her figure) she is very petite at 5'0", with a 25 inch waist.

Dolly Parton is an American singer, songwriter, author, actress, and humanitarian from Tennessee, USA.
Dolly Rebecca Parton was born on 19 January 1946 In a one room cabin at Pittman Center, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA and her parents were Avie Lee (Owens) and Lee Parton.
She was the fourth of twelve children. She grew up in a very low economical area of Appalachia, where money was very limited for such a large family, that the doctor who delivered Dolly was paid with a bag of cornmeal.
Music played an important role for Dolly even at a young age. Her family attended the Church of God in Cleveland Tennessee, USA where her grandfather, Jake Robert Owens (1899-1992) pastored and where she began her singing career at the age of six.
By the age of ten, she was appearing on the "Cas Walker Show".
At the age of 13 she recorded her first record, "Puppy Love" and also appeared at the Grand Ole Opry. alongside her uncle, Bill Owens.
She attended Sevier County High School in Sevierville, Tennessee, USA graduating in 1964 - and the very next day, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
Dolly Parton married on May 30 1966 to Carl Thomas Dean and they had no children.

Dolly has appeared on television since the 1960s when she performed on the "Porter Wagoner Show".
She also had two self-titled shows in the 1970s and 1980s.
In 1980 she starred in her first movie, the comedy "9 to 5" along with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

She received Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy nominations, and won Grammys for Best Female Country Vocal performance and Best Country song for the title song of the movie.
In 1985 she starred in the musical comedy, "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" alongside Burt Reynolds (1936-2018) and Dom DeLuise (1933-2009), where she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical.

On 03 May 1986, the doors opened to Dollys new venture, a family orientated theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, USA called "Dollywood".

Philanthothropy
In an interview with "Country Music Today", Dolly stated “I keep dreaming myself into a corner! I’ve learned you can’t just say, ’Oh, my dream’s come true and I’m walking out of here. No, you’ve got to show you’re grateful and show that you’re not going to just leave it all in the hands of other people”.
She practices what she preaches. She gives, sometimes anonymously, to charities and causes constantly including

- "My People Fund".
She gave over $3 million to the victims of the Smokey Mountain fires in 2017.
She has also generously given money to the LeConte Medical Center in Seiiverville, Tennessee, USA.
