Donna R. Norris, age 72 of Burlington, Iowa, died on Monday, June 24, 2019, at her home. Graveside service at Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Westfield Cemetery south of Grinnell.

Born on December 21, 1946, in Grinnell, Iowa, Donna was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Irene Woodrow Krumm of Gilman, Iowa. She married Daryl Norris and they later divorced.

She completed practical nursing studies from Des Moines Area Community College and earned a bachelor's degree from Grand View College, working 22 years in health systems, then moved to Burlington for employment with SE Iowa Area Agency on Aging, Inc. and Southeastern Community College (SCC). She completed a MS in Education from Western III. University and retired from SCC as Director of the Success Center and TRIO programs in 2008.

Donna served on regional, state, and national boards of Women Work and numerous college and community organizations. She was a lifelong learner and advocate with regard to health, education, and social justice issues.

She enjoyed her family, gardening, hiking, and voluntary activities.

Surviving are her daughters, Christina Gonzalez (Raul) of Queretaro, Mexico, and Sonya Metz (Michael) of Newton; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and her sister, Gwen Ward (Bill) of Nevada, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Shirley (in infancy) and Vivian Krough; brother, Eugene "Gene" Krumm; and son-in-law, Michael Metz.
