Douglas Eugene Altman, Sr.

Douglas Eugene Altman, Sr., age 42, of Manchester, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 8, 2012, 3:00 P.M., at Community Chapel Church Cemetery, Pine Mountain Valley, Ga., with Rev. Rick Lipp officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home, Manchester.

Mr. Altman was born November 30, 1969, in Savannah, Ga., a son of Oley Eugene Altman of Manchester and Darline Faye Riner Rogers of Reidsville, Ga. He had worked as a machine operator for Sewon America in LaGrange, Ga., and was a loving, devoted father to his children. Survivors include his father, Oley Eugene Altman of Manchester; his mother, Darline Faye Riner Rogers of Reidsville, Ga.; children, Zachary Nyall Altman and Victoria Rose Altman both of Manchester, Haley Darline Altman of Warm Springs, Ga., Skyler Alexis Altman and Douglas Eugene Altman Jr. both of Opelika, Al.; a grandchild, Hayden Allen Hughes of Warm Springs; step-mother, Billie Gail Altman of Manchester; his former wives, Nicole Roxanne Momin of Manchester, Angela Funderburk of Opelika Al; brothers and sisters, Timothy Dewayne Altman and his wife Shanna of Reidsville, Ga., Priscilla Altman Gribble of Reidsville, Bobby Gene Altman and his wife Wanda of Hagan, Ga., Jessica Leigh Altman of Hazelhurst, Ga., Eugenia Gail Altman, Franklin Clyde Altman, and John Thomas Altman all of Manchester, Lawrence Powell and his wife Cindy of Savannah, Ga., and Bruce Lavon Powell of Manchester; also several nieces and nephews.

Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
