Dov Nir

In 1950 he began his studies at the Department of Geography at the Hebrew University was founded only a year earlier. מחקריו עסקו תחילה בעיקר בגאומורפולוגיה של ארץ ישראל, תחום אותו קידם רבות, ומאוחר יותר החל לעסוק גם בגאוגרפיה רגיונלית עם פרסום מחקריו על אזור עמק בית שאן

על תרומתו זו הוענק לו בשנת 1995 פרס ישראל לחקר הגאוגרפיה של ארץ ישראל
