About Duncan de Atholia

Was present at a sitting of the Court of Walter, Earl of Atholl, at Logierait on 21 September, 1428, and granted a charter, with consent of his eldest son and heir Robert, of roods of land in Little Dunkeld to Sir Donald MacNaughton, Doctor of Decrees and Dean of Dunkeld, on 20 January, 1438, in which he is styled as "Duncan Robertson de Atholia". Duncan, as the third Chief, spent some time as a hostage in England for the ransom of King James I and died sometime before 1432. He was known as the Lord of Rannoch, as all the other lands in Rannoch were then in the hands of the Crown.
