DEATH: No death rec found in original source records. A death date of 10 Apr 1754 is found in Howard Finney, FINNEY-PHINNEY FAMILIES IN AMERICA (Richmond, VA, 1957), 5 (FHL #929.273 F497fh). However, this date must be incorrect in light of Ebenezer's will and probate dates. See the will of Ebenezer Phinney of Barnstable, 26 Nov 1754, proved 10 Jan 1755, Barnstable Co. Probate, 9:122-24 (FHL #904602).

Biography
Ebenezer Phinney was born in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony on 18 February 1673, the son of John and Mary (Rogers) Finney/Phinney.[1][2][3]
He married Susanna Linnell at Barnstable on 14 November 1695.[4][3] She was born ca. 1673, the daughter of David and Hannah (Shelley/Shelbey) Linnell.[3] Her father's 1688 will names her as Susanna Linnell.[5]
He was admitted as a townsman in Barnstable on 28 October 1696.[6] He was named in a division of meadow and marshland on 12 Jan 1696/7 in Barnstable, he received one share.[7] In a division of marshland in Barnstable on 6 May 1697, he was again named.[8] Eben Phinny received 15 1/4 shares in a division of the common lands in Barnstable on 19 February 1702.[9]
Susanna died in Barnstable on 10 April 1752.[10]
Ebenezer wrote his will, dated 26 November 1754 and proved 10 January 1755, which named sons Samuel, Ebenezer and David Phinney, daughters Mehitable Higgins, Mary Davis, and Rebecca Davis, granddaughter Lydia Phiney. Sons Samuel and Ebenezer to be executors.[11] Ebenezer died in Barnstable on 28 November 1754, age 81 years.[12]
