Wikitree: Elinor (Lewis) Bearse (1682 - abt. 1766) assigns her parents as James Lewis and Eleanor (Johnson) Lewis. The webpage profile lacks a convincing authority as of its on 11 Oct 2024 update.
Source 1: A cited book may exist somewhere, but searching WorldCat.org, Amazon.ca, etc. proved the utter unavailability of the book. Supposedly there's a book by C Austin Bears titled Bears Barss Genealogy Vol 2, whereon pages 8-9's pertinent content is states to exist—if the book can be located.
Source 2. Amos Otis, who all to seldom cites any authority, wrote in his The Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families, Vol. 1, page 55 the marriage and the date. On pages 58-59, Otis further deposited this unsourced content: “John Bearse, son of Joseph, marriage Eleanor Lewis 15th Nov., 1711. He died May 3, 1760, aged 72. His children were Lydia, born 28th July, 1712, who married Capt,. Joh Cullio, a Scotchman, Jan’y 1, 1735; John who married Lydia Lumbert, Feb 12 1746; Hanna, who married Jabez Bearse, March 26, 1761, second wife; Eleanor, who married John Loggee, Jan’y 13, 1753; Martha, who married Isaac Lewis, Feb. 10, 1748; Mary and Dinah.”
