Hendrick Henry Kortregt, a son of Peiter Hendricksen and Maritje (Van Garden) Kortregt, was born in Harlem, NY in August 1717 and Christened September 22, 1717 at the Dutch Reformed Church, Kingston, Ulster, NY. He died after 1757 in Moorefield, Hardy County, VA.

On December 28, 1739 in Kingston, Ulster, NY, he married Elizabeth “Liddie” Hornbeck. Elizabeth was a daughter of Johannes and Ordsrltjen Urseltje (Westbroek) Hornbeck, born in 1722 in Kingston, Ulster, NY, Christened 13 May 1722 in the Dutch Reformed Church, Kingston, Ulster, NY, died after 1757 in Moorefield, VA (WV).

According to a statement by their son John on a military pension application, Henry and Liddie arrived in VA in 1760/61.

Apparently the family used the name Cutright after arriving in VA.
