Elizabeth Claypoole was born to Norton Claypoole and Rachel in Lewes, Delaware on 16 May 1687.[1]

"Elizabeth, daugher of Norton and Rachell Claypoole, was born at Lewis [Lewes], Delaware, 16 3rd mo. 1687 about 7 P.M. 'in the presence of Thomas Wynne and Elizabeth his wife, ye midwife, & Jane Maud, her daughter, Hannah Bailey' and several other women."[2]

Research Notes

Elizabeth is listed on the Internet as the daughter of James Claypoole. She is actually the daughter of James' brother, Norton Claypoole and was born in Delaware.[1] James Claypoole had a daughter Elizabeth but she died as an infant.[3]

Elizabeth Claypoole married William Pettyjohn in 1713 in Sussex County, Delaware.
